About Localhost Labs

Localhost Labs is a team of senior engineers in New York, NY. We build one custom platform that replaces the disconnected tools an established business runs on, then keep running and improving it with you.

What we build

Most of the businesses we work with run on five to seven tools that don’t talk to each other, and their staff fill the gaps by re-typing the same information. We replace that with one system shaped around how the business already works.

We build for medical offices, construction companies, law, accounting and consulting firms and restaurant groups, often with more than one location.

You pay a monthly subscription, from $497/mo, month to month. It includes the build, moving your data and training, and we keep maintaining the platform after launch. See pricing and how we work.

How an engagement runs

For one location, the first call to your team working in the platform typically takes four to six weeks. After that we stay on, because software that runs a business is never finished.

  1. MapWeek 1

We sit with the people doing the work, from the front desk to the books, and list every tool and every place information gets typed twice. You get a written scope and the plan it fits before anything is built.

  2. BuildWeeks 2–4

We build on our base for your industry and shape it to your workflows, your forms and your reports. You see it working as it takes shape and tell us what’s off while it’s cheap to change.

  3. Move and trainWeeks 4–6

We move your data out of the tools you’re leaving and train each role on its own work, not a generic demo. Tools worth keeping, like payroll or your accounting system, get connected.

  4. ImproveEvery month after

Launch is the start. The same engineers maintain the platform and keep improving it as your business changes, for as long as you’re with us.

What we commit to

Month to month. Cancel anytime.
No annual contract. Annual billing saves 10% if you’d rather, but it’s never required.
We move your data.
Migration from the tools you’re leaving is included on every plan, so nothing is stranded.
Live in four to six weeks.
For one location, from the first call to your team working in it.
We sign a BAA.
Medical practices get a signed Business Associate Agreement before any patient data moves.
Keep what already works.
Payroll, your accounting system, or a clinical system you rely on can stay. On Growth and Custom we connect it to your platform instead of replacing it for the sake of it.
The same senior engineers, start to finish.
The people who map your business build the platform and keep maintaining it. No handoffs to a junior team.

We’re a fit for established small and mid-size businesses whose team spends real time moving information between tools. If your current setup works and the gaps are small, we’ll say so on the first call rather than sell you a build.

Our open-source work

We also build Crumb, an open-source customer feedback tool licensed under AGPL-3.0. Its code is public on GitHub, so you can read how we write software before you talk to us.
